Every year on the winter Solstice, the 21st of December, also known as the shortest day of the year, the sun shines into the entrance of Newgrange, through the 9 ft passageway. The suns rays stretch all the way through to the centre chamber and illuminate the tri-spiral carving in the centre of the burial tomb. Just outside of the tomb and down the hill flows the life giving river Boyne. the Boyne is in constant flow and the sun rises and falls every day giving life to our ancestors, while the dead are honored inside the burial chamber. This circle of life and death in constant flow is represented in the Circle of Life Pendant. The pendant depicts the rays of the sun shining down to the tri-spiral on one side. On the other side the river flows upwards from the tri-spiral towards the suns rays. Everything is in constant flow celebrating the Circle of Life.
NOTE: As of November 2016 I have seen a shop in Ireland sell a VERY similar design to this one. As this is a very unique design which I created. I feel that the other had to have been copied from my design and I am very disappointed that another (Artist) would do that. Please don’t be fooled by anyone saying that they are selling an original piece. This design is the original and can only be purchased through my website. Please only purchase this if it is a Dorothy Bentley piece, as this is the only authentic pendant.
If you should see a similar design to this one I would appreciate it if you would let me know by emailing me at email@example.com.
